WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Federal Management Agency has awarded a $6.76 million contract to a Holmes County business in order to provide temporary housing to Louisiana flood victims.
Lexington Homes, Inc. in Lexington will be responsible for providing the 155 homes to individuals in 22 parishes that were effected by the Louisiana floods in August.
U.S. Senator That Cochran’s said the contract is funded by the FY2016 appropriations provided by Congress.
“The temporary housing assistance offered by FEMA can help disaster victims rebuild their lives. I am pleased that a Mississippi manufacturer has been awarded a contract to supply this housing,” said Sen. Cochran.
Those eligible for the one, two, and three bedroom homes will apply for assistance through the FEMA Individuals and Households program.
