JACKSON, Miss.- Mayor Tony Yarber finally makes a comment to reporters on Tuesday about the sexual discrimination suit filed against him and the city of Jackson.
Yarber’s former assistant, Kimberly Bracey, has accused the mayor of sexual harassment. She said the two were in a consensual sexual relationship until she tried to end it and Yarber told her he would fire her if she did not continue the affair.
According to court documents her allegations surfaced a day after Yarber accused her of using city equipment for personal use.
On Tuesday Yarber said “The city gets frivolous lawsuits all the time. This isn’t…We have over 120 very silly lawsuits,” said Yarber.
Yarber will be represented by private legal counsel, as will the City of Jackson.
