HATTIESBURG, Miss.- Police in Hattiesburg have arrested a couple in connection with the death of their 7-week-old baby.
The child, River Ashcraft, was found dead at the Rust-ique Apartments just before 8:00 am on Monday morning.
Martina Fillingane and Robert Ashcraft, 40, were arrested and charged with felony child neglect.
Police have not yet confirmed the official cause of death. The child’s body has been sent to the crime lab in Jackson for an autopsy.
