A new Miss Mississippi’s Teen has been crowned.
Avery McNair, a Simpson Academy student and Miss Madison County Teen, is the latest to earn the prestigious title during Sunday’s ceremony in Vicksburg. This year marked the 20th anniversary of the competition being held in the Magnolia State.

21 total teens competed for the crown in the River City over the weekend, but McNair came out on top courtesy of her piano-playing skills, among other talents. Now, the Madison County native will represent the state on a national level in vying for Miss America’s Teen.
In the meantime, McNair will make public appearances across Mississippi in her new role while preparing for the national competition. She has also been awarded $10,000 for winning in Vicksburg. After high school, she plans to take her talents to Starkville as a student at Mississippi State University.
