A Florida man wanted for attempted murder was arrested Monday two states over in Mississippi.
Roger De Le Cruz, 35, was arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in Gulfport. According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies discovered the felony warrants after running his information.

De Le Cruz is accused of shooting two people at an apartment complex in Lee County, Fla. – over 600 miles away from where he was caught in Mississippi – on March 15, leaving two victims injured.
“This suspect was located early Monday morning in Mississippi after he shot two people and fled Florida,” a statement from Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno reads. “My team is working with our State Attorney’s Office and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office to bring Roger De Le Cruz back to Lee County where he will face the consequences of his heinous crime.”
De Le Cruz is charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and has an ICE hold placed on him, allowing federal officials to take custody for potential deportation. The two people he allegedly shot are reported to be in stable condition.
