Today will start off partly sunny, then clearing, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be near 80. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 50s.
Southern Mississippi
It will be partly sunny this morning with a slight chance of showers and highs in the lower 80s. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with lows near 60.
Severe weather is possible starting late Friday afternoon. According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, the system will move into Mississippi around 5 p.m. on Friday with the potential for damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes. The threat will remain with us through Saturday night, with an increased risk of strong tornadoes possible in most of our state.
