NEW YORK – Suicide is the nations 10th leading cause of death according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and has risen 24 percent in the last 15 years.
For sometime suicide has been more popular among whites, with shockingly more-and-more middle aged individuals taking their own lives than in the past.
A third of all suicides are now done by whites between the ages of 45 and 64. That age group use to only account for a quarter of all suicides in the U.S.
In 2014 there were nearly 43,000 suicides in the U.S.
The CDC also reported alarming suicide spikes among American Indians and Alaska Natives.
