A Jackson man will spend nearly 20 years in state prison for a fentanyl trafficking scheme.
Officials said 30-year-old Timothee Jones was stopped by a Madison County sheriff’s deputy in October of 2023. Jones notified the officer that he was on probation and his driver’s license was suspended, while the officer noted an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A probable cause search was conducted on Jones’ car, leading to the discovery of marijuana as well as M30 fentanyl pills on his person.
“We hope this is the end to Jones’ criminal behavior and that this sentence will discourage others from choosing to make money by trafficking illegal drugs in and through our county, state, and country,” Madison and Rankin Counties’ District Attorney Bubba Bramlett said. “We appreciate the hard work of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and Madison Police Departments officers for removing Jones and more of these deadly fentanyl pills off our streets.”
Jones will be required to serve all 16 years of his sentence, day for day, without the possibility of parole or early release.
