Ole Miss linebacker Khari Coleman has been arrested in connection with a sex-related crime that allegedly occurred when the Rebels were in Florida for the TaxSlayerGator Bowl.
The St. Johns County (FL) Sheriff’s Office reported that Coleman, 23, was arrested on Thursday on two felony counts of exposure of sexual organs. According to law enforcement, housekeeping employees at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra reported witnessing multiple lewd acts by the same culprit on January 2 — the same day the Rebels faced off against Duke in the postseason outing.
Coleman, a senior who transferred to Ole Miss from TCU in 2022, is accused of exposing himself to the workers. An investigation conducted by authorities found that the football player had done this on two separate occasions during the same day. Police also discovered that Coleman had been detained in Mississippi for an indecent exposure incident involving five victims, making him a prime suspect.
Once law enforcement authorities wrapped up their assessment of the alleged crimes, a nationwide pickup warrant was obtained to take Coleman into custody. St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office detectives notified Oxford officials of the warrant and the local Mississippi police department arrested the football player.
Coleman appeared in all 13 Ole Miss football games this year, logging 45 total tackles, 19 of which were solo, and one forced fumble. He started in the Gator Bowl against the Blue Devils and was second on the team with five tackles in the 52-20 blowout.
His bond information has not been made available at this time.
