Another Mississippi school is closed for the rest of the week due to an unspecified illness making its rounds.
Houlka Attendance Center’s doors will be closed on Thursday and Friday as a result of the widespread sickness. The Chickasaw County School District made the announcement.
The update comes after West Union Attendance Center in Myrtle reported more than 200 pupils coming down with the illness, prompting the school to shut down temporarily. Houlka Attendance Center is a rural PK-12 educational facility that has an estimated student population of 490.
Students at both schools are expected to return to the classroom on Monday.
