Funeral arrangements have been announced for the Gautier High School football player who died last week.
15-year-old Shermarion Miner was transported to Ocean Springs Hospital after a medical emergency inside the team’s fieldhouse on Jan. 9. He passed away during a workout after suffering a pulmonary embolism, according to the Sun Herald.
Miner will be honored during a vigil at Vaughn-Wallace Stadium on the campus of Gautier High School on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 5 p.m. A service will then be held on Sunday, Jan. 19 at the Healer Nation Healing Center in Gautier.
The Pascagoula-Gautier School District released funeral information on social media, along with a statement expressing its grief over Miner’s tragic passing.
Miller was a sophomore at Gautier High School. He played offensive line for the Gators.
