As one college football season nears its end, schedules for the upcoming campaign are currently being released.
On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference announced kickoff dates for each member institution, including Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
The new schedules bring about enthusiasm and anticipation among two programs that fell short of expectations this year. The Bulldogs ended Jeff Lebby’s inaugural season with a 2-10 record, going winless in conference play.
Lane Kiffin’s Rebels fared better than their in-state foe, going 9-3 and winning five SEC matchups, but ultimately fell short of earning a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff, despite having arguably the most talented roster in Ole Miss history.
Here’s who both programs will be facing in 2025:
Ole Miss
The Rebels will open things up next fall with Georgia State at home, then begin SEC play in weeks two and three, battling Kentucky on the road and Arkansas in Oxford. Ole Miss will then host Tulane and LSU in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium before first its bye week.
After the intermission, Kiffin and company will welcome Washington State, then head out to Georgia and Oklahoma for consecutive conference outings on the road. Ole Miss will return home to square off against South Carolina and the Citadel ahead of its final bye. The Rebels will host Florida and end the regular season at Mississippi State for the annual Egg Bowl.

Mississippi State
Lebby and his Bulldogs will kick off the season on the road at Southern Miss, then host Arizona State, Alcorn State, Northern Illinois, and Tennessee at home. The home stint will follow a trip to Texas A&M. A bye week will follow the busy opening stretch.
After the break, Mississippi State will travel to Florida, battle Texas at Davis-Wade Stadium, and head to Arkansas. The Bulldogs will then return home to play Georgia and hit the road once again for a showdown against Missouri. One more break will ensue ahead of the Bulldogs’ Egg Bowl rivalry against Ole Miss.
