JACKSON, Miss.- The University of Mississippi Critical Race Studies Group and the William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation have signed off on a petition to do away with the newly named Confederate Heritage Month.
Gov. Bryant recently deemed April as a celebratory month for to remember the Confederacy and this decision has ruffled a few feathers especially after the attention Mississippi has received for the confederate emblem still on our state flag.
The petition calls for the month to be un-named as a historical remembrance month out of respect for the individuals who still hold great scars inflicted by the past and present impact of the Confederacy.
