JACKSON, MISS– The Starkville Police Department booked former Mississippi State Quarterback and NFL hopeful Dak Prescott Saturday night for driving under the influence.
The two-time Conerly winner was pulled over nearly the Cotton District, reports WJTV.
The Starkville Police Department posted about the arrest on Facebook:
On March 12, 2016, around 1245 am, Rayne Dakota Prescott, age 22, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Prescott posted bond and was released. There is no further information from the Starkville Police Department in reference to this incident.
The police department is receiving backlash about the public posting of Prescott’s arrest information, saying the statement was only posted because of his athletic standing and recognition. Others are praising the department for not letting his name or recognition keep him from being in trouble with the law.
Prescott is projected to be drafted into the NFL in the third or fourth round.
