A Mississippi man was killed in a wreck after his vehicle struck a group of horses standing in the middle of a rural highway.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol confirmed the wreck took place in Holmes County shortly before midnight last Thursday. The victim was identified as Preston Nichelson, 32, of Pickens.
Nichelson was traveling in a 2005 Dodge Charger that overturned upon hitting the horses. It is believed that Nichelson was alone at the time of the crash.
