Trio of men arrested in connection with drive-by shooting in Vicksburg

A trio of men are now behind bars for their alleged roles in a drive-by shooting that left one man injured in Vicksburg.

The Vicksburg Police Department reports that Willie Johnson, 49, Jermaine Johnson, 46, and Calbert Cosby, 22, were apprehended on Thursday for an incident that took place on June 7 of this year.

All three men are reported to have been involved when gunfire rang out in the 4100 block of Washington Streer, leaving Devontay Knight, 25, suffering from injuries. The victim’s current condition has not been provided at this time.

All three men appeared in municipal court and had the following bonds set by Judge Angela Carpenter:

  • Willie Johnson — Charged with drive-by shooting, aggravated assault with a firearm, and given a $225,000 bond
  • Jermaine Johnson — Charged with drive-by shooting, aggravated assault, and given a $225,000 bond
  • Calbert Cosby — Charged with drive-by shooting, aggravated assault, and given a $250,000 bond
