State authorities are investigating an alleged domestic violence incident involving Clarke County Sheriff Anthony Chancelor.
While details remain slim, we do know the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assessing reports against the law enforcement official.
“The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an incident regarding allegations of domestic violence involving the Clarke County Sheriff. Due to this being an open and ongoing investigation, no further comment will be made,” a statement from the agency reads.
The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office has not commented on the investigation at this time.
