Mississippi-based clothing company, GenTeal Apparel, has been named one of the fastest-growing retailers in the U.S.

The company founded in Oxford but now distributing mostly out of Tupelo was ranked by Inc. 5000 at No. 998 on quickest brand growth when it comes to all privately owned businesses – placing GenTeal in the top 20 percent nationally. It also was listed by the publication as the fastest-growing private retail company currently in Mississippi.

“This honor is a testament to our retail partners who believe in the brand and our passionate and engaged customers who motivate and challenge us day in and day out,” GenTeal CEO Abigail Linton said. “We’re thrilled to be included on the list for a third consecutive year, and I’m incredibly grateful for the hard work and creative energy our team pours into everything they do.”

As Linton pointed out, GenTeal has now cracked Inc. 5000’s list for the third year in a row. Founded in 2016, GenTeal, which specializes in premium men’s apparel, was first sold at one store in Oxford before skyrocketing into a national success.

As of September 2024, GenTeal apparel can be found at 250 specialty retailers and country clubs in 22 states. From 2020-23, its growth has been tracked at 512 percent.

10 other companies from Mississippi were listed by Inc. 5000: Publishing, Mama Justice Law Firm, Mid South Communications, Life Dental Group, DIG Creative Solutions, Zavation Medical Products, Watkins Construction, Hunt Marketing, Navagis, and Cypress Environment & Infrastructure.
