A suspected undocumented immigrant has been arrested in Mississippi for shooting at 15 vehicles, leaving three injured.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, officers responded to the latest round of gunfire reported on Beacon Street near Burger King early Saturday morning. They were led to the nearby home of Jonathan Salvador, 31, of Mexico, where they served a search warrant.
Upon inspection of the residence on Alford Avenue, both a handgun and an AR-15-style rifle were discovered. When daylight hit, officers found around 30 shell casings matching the rifle in an overgrown lot next door. They believe Salvador was set up there shooting at vehicles throughout the week as they passed. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
Further investigation revealed Salvador had attempted to buy an AR-15 at a local gun store in the days leading up to the attacks. He was denied purchase of the gun and instead bought ammunition.

The Philadelphia Police Department believes Salvador was preparing for additional attacks on the community.
“We believe that he had intentions on carrying out more attacks throughout the city if he were allowed to purchase [the AR-15],” the release noted.
Salvador is facing dozens of felony charges, including attempted murder. Coming off a recent bout of downtown Philadelphia buildings having their windows shot out, law enforcement is working to find out if the incident involving Salvador is related.
Officials said they believe Salvador has been living in the U.S. illegally. He is being held at the Winston-Choctaw Jail.
