A 14-year-old boy is accused of shooting and killing his father in Forrest County.
Officials report that the incident took place on Thursday at a residence on Scenic Drive in the Glendale community. Upon arrival at the scene, Forrest County deputies discovered Thomas Everett deceased with two gunshot wounds.
The victim’s son, Taurence Everett, was located by police at a home approximately one mile away from the crime scene. He was taken into custody and booked into the Forrest County Jail on a first-degree murder charge. The teenager is being charged as an adult.
Law enforcement has not provided any details surrounding the nature of the shooting.
