A major comedy act will be coming to Senatobia.
Northwest Mississippi Community College announced that Jeff Foxworthy will be taking his talents to the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Best known for his “you might be a redneck if …” quip and his role as the host of the popular game show Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, Foxworthy is classified as one of the most respected and successful comedians in the U.S.
Foxworthy has the greatest number of comedy records sold in history and has been nominated for multiple Grammys. The iconic comic was once a member of the legendary “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” alongside stars Ron White, Bill Engvall, and Larry The Cable Guy.
During an appearance on Good Things with Rebecca Turner, Foxworthy gave a sneak peek of the subject area he will be touching on during Friday’s show.
“I try to cover everybody. I try to do some stuff I did on the last special in case people hadn’t seen it. I try to do one-third new stuff,” Foxworthy said. “For a long time, I tried to avoid doing something I had done in the past, and people kept coming up and going, ‘Will you please tell the story about X?’ So now I try to go back and pick out a few of those oldies that I like and do them and try to have a little bit of something for everybody.”
Joining Foxworthy in the Senatobia venue will be Tammy Pescatelli as the opening comedian. Pescatelli is widely known for her bold, witty sarcasm. Self-described as a “verbal assassin,” she brings a unique spin on various topics. She has made appearances on various shows including The View, Guy’s Grocery Games, and the Howard Stern Show, among others.
“If folks haven’t seen her, she is hilarious. She really makes me laugh,” Foxworthy said of his opener.
