It’s looking like a mostly sunny start to the week, according to the National Weather Service. Below is your daily forecast for each part of the state.

Northern Mississippi

Sunshine all around with highs in the upper 90s and lows in the mid 70s. Heat index readings could be anywhere between 104 and 109 degrees. Come nightfall, skies should be clear as temperatures drop slightly.

Central Mississippi

Much of the same in the central portion of the state. Highs will be in the upper 90s with sunshine expected all day. Heat index readings could be anywhere between 108 and 113 degrees. Once the sun goes down, skies look to remain clear with temperatures taking a slight dip.

Southern Mississippi

This is the only part of the state where a chance of rain is showing up on the radar. While sunshine and temperatures in the upper 90s are expected for the majority of the day, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Lows come nightfall will be in the upper 70s.
