On Tuesday, Southern Miss football announced a four-game series with one of its longtime rivals.
The Golden Eagles will take on Louisiana Tech four times between 2029 and 2033. The series will include two games at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston and two games at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg.
The first game of the series will be at Louisiana Tech on Sept. 15, 2029. After a year off, the series goes to Southern Miss for a Sept. 20, 2031, meeting. The two teams then return to Ruston for a Sept. 18, 2032, matchup before completing the series on Sept. 17, 2033, in Hattiesburg.
In the meantime, the Golden Eagles and Bulldogs are scheduled to play on Sept. 20, 2025, and Sept. 19, 2026. The two teams have not squared off on the gridiron since Southern Miss left the Conference USA for the Sun Belt in 2022.
The Golden Eagles hold a 36-17 advantage in the all-time series, dating back to 1935, with the most recent meeting resulting in a 35-19 Southern Miss win in 2021.
