As the upcoming college football season nears, Ole Miss will be putting on a concert to get fans hyped up for what is expected by many to be a historic campaign.

Presented by SuperTalk Mississippi Media, on Friday, August 30, just one night ahead of Lane Kiffin and company’s opener against Furman, a set of performances by artists with deep Oxford roots will take place in the Sandy and John Black Pavilion.

Headlining the concert will be former Ole Miss pitcher turned Academy of Country Music Award-winner Brett Young with hits including “In Case You Didn’t Know” and “Hell Yeah Damn Right (Ole Miss Tribute).” Young suited up for the Rebels in 2000 and later pursued a career in music, where he has had immense success.

Joining Young will be Josh Kelley, a fellow former Ole Miss student-athlete converted into a country music singer. Kelley, who was a member of the Rebels’ men’s golf team in 2000-01, is best known in the entertainment scene for his songs “Amazing” and “Georgia Clay.”

In addition, none other than Oxford-based Mustache The Band, or “the world’s most powerful 90s country party band,” will take the stage at the indoor facility to perform some of the greatest hits from a bygone era of country music.

The concert is set to begin at 7 p.m. with doors to the SJB Pavilion opening at 6 p.m. and parking starting at 5 p.m.

Ticket prices range from $25 to $50. Parking is available for $20 in general lots and $40 in prime lots. Discounted rates for floor seats will be available for active Ole Miss students enrolled for the fall semester. Tickets and parking passes will be sent via mobile delivery on Tuesday, August 27 — three days before the concert.
