More details have been announced for Chapel Hart’s free concert coming to the country music trio’s hometown of Poplarville.
Sisters Danica and Devynn Hart and their cousin Trea Swindle joined Good Things with Rebecca Turner to give fans a sneak peek into what the concert will entail. On June 22, the girls will be teaming up with Meridian pastor singer and season 18 winner of The Voice Todd Tilghman plus some other “Mississippi friends” to put on what Chapel Hart believes will be a one-of-a-kind show.
“We absolutely love Todd Tilghman. He’s like our Mississippi hot mess when we’re up here in Nashville together. Can you really have a good Mississippi show without Chapel Hart and Todd Tilghman?” Devynn said, laughing.
“We will have some other Mississippi friends who will be joining us too,” Devynn continued. “We always think Mississippi has the best and most talented folks, so we’re bringing some of our friends along to celebrate.”
As for what time the concert will be, the doors to Pearl River Community College’s Dobie Holden Stadium will open at 6 p.m. with the music beginning at 7 p.m. While the stadium can fit over 5,000 people, Chapel Hart is encouraging everyone to get there early as they’ve already gotten word that fans are planning to travel from not only across the state but across the nation to see them perform in the place where it all started.
“Get there early,” Danica warned. “There’s going to be quite a bit of space, but Poplarville is coming out in full force. We’ve had people reaching out from the Coast all the way up to Jackson and even over in Missouri. We’ve got people driving from all over the country to see our hometown of Poplarville.”
It was announced last month that Chapel Hart – who gained national fame through a top-five run on America’s Got Talent – would be returning to Poplarville. “The Girls Are Back in Town” singers said putting on a free concert in their hometown is a great way to give back to the community that has supported them since day one.
“There’s no better way to give back than to do a hometown concert right in Pearl River County, the place that made us who we are,” Devynn said. “This is our way of reaching out and giving back. We want to pay a special thank you to the city of Poplarville and Pearl River County for helping us put this on.”
Seating for Chapel Hart’s hometown concert on June 22 will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you bring a lawn chair or blanket, you will be allowed to sit on the football field in front of the stage. More information can be found here.
