State authorities are assessing an officer-involved shooting that took place in central Mississippi on Tuesday.
According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the Flowood Police Department received a call regarding a subject who was attempting to break into residences at the Shadow Lake Apartment Complex.
Authorities claim that the subject presented a weapon in the officers’ direction once police arrived at the scene. Responding officers then discharged their weapons, fatally striking the subject. The involved officers did not receive any serious physical injury.
MBI is looking into the shooting. The name of the deceased individual has not been released.
