An investigation is underway after a dead body was found on the side of the road in Lauderdale County Tuesday morning.
According to police, a driver called law enforcement around 6:15 a.m. to report an individual lying on King Road in Meridian.
Coroner Stella McMahan confirms that the individual is a Black male. Authorities have not yet released his identity, though he is suspected to be from the area.
No further details have been provided at this time.
