An officer-involved shooting is being investigated in Mississippi.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is looking into an incident involving the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office that left one person hospitalized on Monday.
Deputies reportedly responded to a call for service regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, authorities encountered the subject who allegedly presented a knife at the police at the scene. The deputies involved then discharged their firearms striking the unidentified subject, who has since been transported to a local hospital.
No law enforcement at the scene received any serious physical injury.
MBI is currently assessing the incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
