Following a round of severe weather that left thousands in central Mississippi without power Monday night, weather officials have confirmed that a tornado touched down in Hinds County.
According to the National Weather Service, the tornado followed a path of about 8.5 miles from Kickapoo Road in Clinton into Madison County before dissipating. The storm was classified as an EF-1 with winds reaching up to 100 miles per hour.

No injuries or deaths were reported.
