An investigation has been launched after a detainee was found dead at the Raymond Detention Center.
According to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones, 29-year-old Kendravius Eldridge was found unresponsive in his cell Monday at 9:10 a.m.
Raymond Detention Center Death Investigation: Detainee-Kendravius Eldridge, B/M, 29, was found unresponsive in his cell this morning at 9:10 and pronounced deceased. MS Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation. Cause of death is unknown, foul play not suspected.

As of now, the cause of death is unknown as the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case. No foul play is suspected.
In 2015, Eldridge was charged with murder in connection to a shooting in Jackson. It’s unclear if he was ever sentenced as neither the Mississippi Department of Corrections nor Hinds Couty has him currently listed in their inmate records.
