A six-year-old Mississippi girl is reported to be dead after being struck by a vehicle in Mize.
According to Smith County Sheriff Joel Houston, deputies were called to respond to a tragic accident on Sunday at approximately 2:20 p.m. in which a young child was killed after being hit by a vehicle in her driveway.
The sheriff said that first responders swiftly arrived at the scene, but the child had already succumbed to injuries sustained.
No arrests have been reported. At this time, no further details will be disclosed as the Smith County Sheriff’s Office conducts a thorough investigation into the accident.
