JACKSON, Miss.–The Sanderson Farms Golf Championship will bring big name golfers to Mississippi, but the people who will benefit the most are sick kids treated at Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.
The tournament starts Monday with practice rounds.
“Our primary beneficiary id Friends of Children’s Hospital. So all of the proceeds go to that charity,” said Steve Jent, executive director of the tournament, which is an annual stop on the PGA Tour.
The Championship has been sponsored by Sanderson Farms for the past two years, amking 2015 the third year for their sponsorship.
The list of golfers who are set to play the course at the Jackson Country Club is growing.
“We’ve got a great field and they really have until 5 o’clock Friday to commit, so it’s getting better every day,” said Jent.
Nick Taylor will be returning to defend his win from last year. Sean O’Hair, Boo Weekly and Jonathan Byrd are other golfers who have committed.
