JACKSON, Miss.–Dragging a state trooper about 100 yards at a traffic stop Sunday afternoon is what had all Jackson metro area police on alert Monday. They were looking for the man at his house and had the car that was used.
The trooper was taken to UMMC, and was expected to be okay.
How It Happened
It started when the trooper pulled the man over, said Eric Henry, with the Highway Patrol. Tat was at Hwy. 18 and Robinson Rd.
The trooper smelled pot in the car and when the man started to give the trooper his license, he then snatched it back and hit the gas. That started a chase that eventually ended up at what may have been the man’s house. The man hit several police vehicles with his car during the chase.
But, they had no luck finding him. He did leave the car behind.
Troopers did not give out the man’s name.
The DEA was also involved in the search. Henry told media that was because drugs may have been involved.
If you know anything about the man or where he may be, call the Jackson Police or the Miss. Highway Patrol.
