Law enforcement has cleared activities to resume at Magee High School following a threat directed at the campus.
Officials with the Magee Police Department (MPD) made school officials aware of a possible threat to the campus Monday morning around 10 a.m., prompting a full lockdown until officers could conduct an investigation.
Upon completing the investigation, police did not find the school to be in any imminent danger. The threat is believed to have been a possible prank.
“I appreciate the Magee Police Department and the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department for making us aware of the threat made to our campus and for acting so swiftly,” MHS Principal Duriel Banks said. “We thank them for their support of our campus and for making sure we are all safe.”
Magee High School will remain on a soft lockdown for the remainder of the day in order to keep students and staff safe.
