JACKSON, Miss. – Good news for Mississippi, according to the U.S. Labor Department the number of people unemployed fell during the month of September.
It’s estimated that about 77,000 Mississippians were unemployed in September, down 2,500 from August.
The number of those unemployed dropped even as the Mississippi labor force grew, which shows that more jobs were added when compared to those who were seeking a job.
Not everything is good news however, the magnolia state still has the seventh-highest jobless rate in the country.
