OXFORD, Miss – Originally, the University of Mississippi chapter of the NAACP was rallying for the removal of the Mississippi state flag from campus.
As the clock struck one o’clock, chapter members from the Georgia Ku Klux Klan began a counter protest, in support of the state flag. According to the Clarion-Ledger at least six adults were wearing Klan shirts that read “International Keystone Knights”.
By around 1:45 p.m. the two groups were sharing choice words regarding the state flag.
Soon after 2:00 p.m. University Police escorted the KKK of Campus, while a group of black students began to chant the lyrics to Stream’s hit single, Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Good-Bye.
