A Good Samaritan in the Flowood Police Department has been praised for saving the life of an infant unable to breathe.
On Friday, Officer Will Brantley was working his normal shift around 1:00 p.m. when a vehicle pulled into the median where he was parked.
A female driver notified Brantley that her eight-week-old baby was choking and could not breathe. The first responder immediately stepped into action and performed life-preserving measures on the infant.
Brantley’s actions cleared the infant’s airway, allowing the baby to breathe. The mother took the baby to a local hospital for further evaluation.
“Officer Brantley showed his true service to his community and what it means to protect and serve,” officials with the Flowood Police Department wrote on Facebook.
