The University of Southern Mississippi’s College of Health will host the forum “Postpartum Retention in HIV Care: A Hidden Leak in the Treatment Cascade” on Thursday.
It will be held at the Thad Cochran Center in room 214. The event will not be ticketed and is open to the public.
“Reducing racial, gender, age, socio-economic and sexual behavior disparities is imperative to changing increased incidence and mortality of HIV in Mississippi,” said Dr. Susan Mayfield-Johnson, assistant professor of public health. “This presentation offers evidence-based research on the topic. I hope students, faculty members and health professionals will learn about one often overlooked population and methods to address this issue.”
The forum series is presented by the College of Health, the Department of Public Health,
Eta Sigma Gamma, and the Health Administration and the Health Administration Student Association. There are also several co-sponsors for the event.
