The victim of a shooting at Howard Industries has succumbed to his injuries.
Dale Thornton, 57, died Saturday after allegedly being shot by Keith Hinton, 20, on May 5. According to police, Hinton shot Thornton outside the plant in Laurel before running inside and forcing employees to evacuate.
After a two-hour manhunt, Hinton was arrested in Perkinston. He later bonded out at $750,000.
At this time, police have not revealed if Hinton’s charges will be upgraded. The Purvis native currently faces charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder.
“We’ll have more information (Monday),” Laurel Police Chief Tommy Cox told WDAM.
