A Booneville woman has been arrested after reportedly slashing a man’s throat during a domestic dispute.
On Monday, officers in Prentiss County were alerted about a male who had been cut in the throat by a female suspect before she left the scene on foot.
Deputies made contact with the victim at a home on County Road 7461 before arresting 33-year-old Brittany Reah Newell, who had the weapon in her possession.
As a result, Newell has been charged with felony aggravated assault for domestic violence. Her bond is currently set at $10,000 while she waits for her case to be presented to a Prentiss County Grand Jury.
Newell also has a hold placed on her by the Booneville Police Department for a misdemeanor warrant.
