The mother of Joseph Spring is the latest to be arrested as officials continue to search for the escaped inmate.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said Tuesday morning that Angela Spring, 50, has been taken into custody and charged with hindering prosecution. Two other individuals were also arrested and charged with the same crime: Nicole Brock, 38, and Rick Patterson, 38.

Spring, 31, has been on the loose for two weeks now after escaping the Raymond Detention Center on May 29. At the time, Spring and Michael Lewis, 31, escaped by traveling through the facility’s air duct before breaking through the perimeter fence. Lewis was captured within 24 hours of the jailbreak.
On June 2, officers thought they had Spring contained to a specific area in Gluckstadt after a stolen vehicle was confirmed near Gluckstadt Road and Industrial Road. The man believed to be Spring and another occupant then fled on foot with the latter being captured soon thereafter.
Following a night-long search, officials couldn’t track Spring down and have been searching for him ever since.
The latest arrests lengthen a list of those behind bars for helping Spring in the aftermath of his escape from jail. Michael Lynn Allen, 45, was taken into custody on June 1 and Kayce Knight on June 2. Both have been charged with aiding and abetting.
