The board president of Pontotoc Electric Power Association has been arrested for indecent exposure following a sting operation on the Natchez Trace.
WTVA reports that the arrest of Larry Parker was made in an undercover plan to catch and arrest people who like to have sex with others in public places along the Trace.
“We’ve had a long-term problem with people engaging in illicit sexual activity in the public areas of the parkway,” Park Ranger John Hearne told the TV station. “There’s a fairly distinct subculture that looks to engage in these kinds of activities.”
According to Hearne, undercover park rangers will go to various locations known for illicit activities and will see if anyone there will try to officer sexual favors for money. An operation on Wednesday, June 7 led to Parker’s arrest.
Parker, who was re-elected to the Pontotoc Electric board in 2022, is charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.
Pontotoc Electric has yet to respond to a request for comment from SuperTalk Mississippi News at this time.
