An ongoing search is taking place for two of the four individuals who escaped the Raymond Detention Center on Saturday, April 22.
Following the death of 22-year-old Dylan Arrington, who was killed in a standoff with police, as well as the arrest of 51-year-old Jerry Raynes, who was detained in Texas, 24-year-old Casey Grayson and 22-year-old Cory Harrison remain at large.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones says his department is working in connection with other law enforcement offices to locate both Grayson and Harrison. As of now, Jones suspects that the two individuals are not in the central Mississippi region and has suspicions that they may not even be in the state.
“The other two, of course, they’re still unaccounted for. We are leaning outside of the central Mississippi area and even the state of Mississippi right now based on information we’ve been getting about the whereabouts of these two individuals,” Jones said.
The four escapees initially worked together to evacuate the jail by escaping through the roof. Jones does not believe that the suspects had any inside help from staff members within the detention center. However, an ongoing administrative investigation is taking place to ensure no jail employees aided the criminals.
Jones is asking for more financial support for structural and technological updates to prevent any situation like this from ever occurring at the Raymond Detention Center.
Anybody with information regarding the whereabouts of Grayson and/or Harrison is asked to contact law enforcement.
