Jerry Raynes, an escaped inmate captured in Texas earlier this week, is expected to be extradited back to Mississippi in the coming days.
Raynes, 51, waived his right to fight extradition in a 25-second court proceeding Friday after being captured Thursday at a hospital in Houston Heights. Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones told KHOU-TV that his team plans to pick up Raynes as early as Monday.

Raynes, who had been in the Raymond Detention Center since January after being charged with auto theft and business burglary, is now facing additional charges of auto theft and escape.
It’s been seven days since Raynes, along with three other inmates, were reported missing from the detention center. Dylan Arrington, 22, died on Wednesday morning during a police standoff that resulted in a home fire, while Casey Grayson, 24, and Corey Harrison, 22, are still at large and should be considered dangerous.
