The Mississippi State Department of Health has confirmed 1,004 new COVID-19 cases in its weekly report.
The seven-day update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 996,607. With 10 additional deaths, 13,429 Mississippians have passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 47 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
Mississippi is currently averaging 153 daily cases, a 28% decrease from two weeks ago.
