WAVELAND, MISS– The storm rolls out, but the work begins. The Coast shaken and turned over on its top by Hurricane Katrina. The only thing keeping it together is the people.
“It was a trying time,” says Charlie Johnson of Waveland, “but the people, who helped each other, were the biggest thing. I saw it through the whole disaster.”
Johnson says response between neighbors was quick.
“No one waited for help,” says Johnson, “everyone just pitched in an helped, throughout the whole Coast.”
