Gov. Tate Reeves has provided an update on Friday night’s severe weather in north Mississippi.
In addition to the initial report that included one fatality and four injuries, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has found the following through assessments:
- 20 homes damaged and numerous trees down in DeSoto County.
- One church, four homes, and one auto shop were damaged in Lee County. Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. and Tupelo Water & Light were also damaged.
- Minor damage reported in Tallahatchie County.
Those impacted who have not reported home or property damage to MEMA are encouraged to do so through the agency’s self-report tool.
Friday’s storms in north Mississippi came exactly one week after a series of tornadoes cut through the state, leaving 21 dead.
