A new study has revealed that Mississippi’s capital city is one of the most obese places in America.
The study from WalletHub found that Jackson is the nation’s fifth-most overweight and obese major city in the United States. The study was based on 19 key factors, including the share of physically inactive adults and access to healthy food.
The only cities ranking more obese than Jackson were McAllen, Texas; Memphis, Tenn.; Mobile, Ala.; and Knoxville, Tenn.
The study also found that Jackson has the third-highest percentage of physically inactive adults and the fourth-highest percentage of diabetic adults.
