A former Mississippi Highway Patrol officer has been arrested once again on charges of domestic violence after less than one year.
Officials with the Attala County Sheriff’s Office took Jeffrey Watson into custody last week after receiving a call near the victim’s home.
In late June, Watson was arrested for domestic violence charges after a video showing the then 36-year-old shoving his wife to the ground went viral over social media. Watson’s wife was taken to the hospital following the incident.
At this time, Watson is facing charges of simple assault and domestic violence while the case continues to be investigated.
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has not issued a statement regarding the incident.
