GRAMMY Museum Mississippi has announced a slate of events to celebrate GRAMMY Week 2023, which is set to begin at the end of the month.
Beginning Tuesday, January 31, the museum will include special programs throughout the week leading up to the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, February 5.
The week of events is set to feature GRAMMY-nominated singer and songwriter Valerie June, as well as guitarist Duane Betts. Additionally, the Cleveland museum will be offering free education workshops to guests and free admission on February 5.
June, a GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Memphis, Tennessee, has recorded four critically acclaimed, best-selling solo albums. June has also written songs for legendary artists such as Mavis Staples and The Blind Boys of Alabama, as well as performed on “The Tonight Show,” “The Late Show,” “Austin City Limits,” the “Rachael Ray Show,” and CBS Saturday Morning.
Florida native Duane Betts released an album called Sketches of American Music in 2018 before announcing the formation of the Allman Betts Band, officially uniting with Allman and Berry D. Oakley, son of the late Allman Brothers Band founding bassist Berry Oakley. Betts is currently prepping a second solo album, which will be steeped in blues, rock, and country music.

Tuesday, January 31
- 10:00 a.m. – Backstage Pass: Valerie June (free education workshop)
- 6:30 p.m. – Spotlight: Valerie June ($15 for museum members and $30 for non-members)
Thursday, February 2
- 10:00 a.m. – Backstage Pass: Duane Betts (free education workshop)
- 6:00 p.m. – Reception for an Evening with Duane Betts
- 7:00 p.m. – An Evening with Duane Betts ($30 for museum members and $40 for non-members)
Friday, February 3
- 10:00 a.m. – Road to GRAMMY Gold (free education workshop)
Sunday, February 5
- All-day free admission in celebration of the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards
